Agreed, but I will also note that I now mix by hand after trying the hacks and various recipes. I think there’s a level of confidence that you get to in baking, like anything, where you understand what rules you can break and how.

Oooh creepy, I didn’t notice that
- Backed into a corner, Annie Wilkes utters the racist-white-lady warning cry: “I am not a racist…”
There’s a reason so many of these comments are backing his behavior. Americans ADORE the “I alone built this” narrative.. even though it’s literally always bullshit. I’m not trying to hate on Stan Lee. This seems like another wonderful opportunity for an art vs artist conversation.
Are you familiar with Dennis Rader? Married to the same woman for over 30 years, had 2 kids. Still “fundamentally unable to connect to people on a personal and especially romantic level”.
“public shaming epidemic”
“tasteful, yet trendy sunburst mirror”
Not at all. I think that’s why the dumbasses were so happy to correct her.. they get to show off that they know what it means.
The most surprising part of this episode, for me, was that so many bakers came to this show without having made choux before. It seems like a staple recipe to have in your toolbox! (For baking at this level)
This! LW2: how much of this emotional energy and attention are you spending with your son? Building that relationship? Making sure HE knows how you feel?
I’d guess more people would say texture than worries about illness, but I could be wrong.
Smokers may not blow it in your face, but they stand outside every building exit, every public transit stop, or just walk down the street letting everyone behind them inhale. For this alone, I don’t mind people who vape.. they can suffer for their own choices, as opposed to giving the rest of us secondhand smoke…
Oh my gosh, it’s the time between The Alienist and Mindhunter. Someone please write this!
Last week, The Kitchn also published cream cheese and jelly sandwiches, I think also intended to be kid-friendly. It’s definitely not the food series for me.
I feel like it’s truly an empty victory but she can’t back down. “I’m actually going to paint all my houses like this now!”
Seriously, at least it doesn’t make noise. I’ve had way more obnoxious, bullying neighbors. (And yeah, this woman is a jerk, but I would take paint over barking dogs or really loud motorcycles or parties)
It feels like an actual 80s grossout horror movie, not just an homage.
The icky thing for me is that they use my money for anti-gay efforts. I can’t stop other people from spending their money how they want, but I feel the tiniest bit of control keeping it out of the hands of people I know will be donating it to things I don’t agree with.
Why can’t people just dislike things? given your attitude, I bet there’s plenty of things you don’t like.
I’ve been doing this lately, either mayo or sour cream, and I’ve been happy with the results.
