I agree, that’s one of the weirdest parts of this. Fine, write about baseball, use a guy’s name.. who would seriously care? But why cross the line into abuse and harassment and asking grown women for nude pictures? The fact that it’s so completely unnecessary probably speaks to some mental illness but it’s just.. wow.

I don’t think that’s what they’re trying to imply. When I lived in NYC, it was more like.. race and ethnicity didn’t matter because everyone sucked. There was no “Hispanics are terrible drivers” or “African-Americans are rude” because every fucking person of every race and color and language is a terrible driver

Maybe it wasn’t about Jezebel writing about it, but how they wrote about it. What she said was totally worth covering. Deciding that it was 100% about Louis CK and no one else, and then doubling down on it regardless of what she said, probably put Kirkman on the defensive.

I assumed it was the rumors about how he basically abandoned his wife and son to be a huge movie star and she’s been raising the kid basically alone. Also the rumors about cheating. I don’t know though. It could all be fake!

This is insane. Is this a company of sociopaths? The comparison at the end is so poor: posing/smiling for a picture with your family is very different than pretending you’re married to an actor, I can’t believe this has to be said. He really seems to see no value in human connection.

I appreciate that he mentioned being a husband and a father, not just the latter.

Thanks! I hate being forced to watch videos and most videos are totally non-deaf-friendly. Assholes.

Have you noticed the rash of “nonplussed” misuse lately? I read it used incorrectly in three actual publications in the same week! So we’re all just pretending it means what we want it to now.

This is the saddest part of Love, Actually. And Emma Thompson is so amazing that it kind of overshadows the “omg puppy love” in some other scenes around it.

I’ve been rewatching West Wing lately and one of the maddening parts is when they say something like, “Yeah, everybody wants healthcare. But we can’t sell that!” So they don’t. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy. Let’s try actually talking about out platform! We’ll find out if people buy it or not.

What the fuck. I’ve never heard of that and it’s horrifying.

I have been working a rough idea in my head over the last week and this morning I just started writing. It’s definitely not recommended, especially as a first-timer, but I just could not get into outlining and planning. I picked two American South folk legends to join together, brainstormed 2 lead characters, and now

Super fun idea!

Go for it! I’m giving it a real attempt this year and I have to say, utilize the message boards. Really helpful so far.

That’s a really good point. I wonder if it’s meant to reflect them “growing up” (kind of) — their lives have smoothed out a bit. It’s not as much random and crazy occurrences, more about the progress they are making towards lives they actually want.

Agree about Ben and Alex. We’ve spent so much time on people accepting their relationship this season!

Oh my god, this guy has made up so many identities just to talk about himself even more often than he already does. This is not borderline anything; it’s so far past the line, the line is a dot!

Honestly, when has news in America ever been impartial? I’m not trying to be glib, it’s a real history question.

Given the gossip flying around, I don’t think it’s boring, but it is sad. Of course, it could all just be mud slinging by PR people.

Regardless of age, I have never been able to stomach those kinds of stories. It is too terrible, too sad, even when fictionalized.
