How did he “cause” that? The protesters have a responsibility to not threaten and not attack people. They were threatening to do that, that is why police had to keep them out of the building.

Actually, by law they are. They are supported and ran by the government. Campuses that take public funding are also required to abide by the same rules of public spaces.

Not according to the law. You can’t just pretend that people saying stuff you don’t like is somehow banned speech. Hate speech is free speech under the law, period.

Free speech does mean public venues (and that campus is a public venue) have to host people.

College campuses ARE public spaces, and public spaces have the right to be used to express a persons views.

But your campus is paid for by taxes as well as tuition, and he is a tax payer in your state. Also how am I misunderstanding free speech? It means that in public places he can express himself freely without threat of reprisal by the government, so long as he isn’t causing violence.
