I think you're overreacting, the ad strikes me more as empowering. I mean the woman has her own phone and she doesn't iron shirts for her man. No sir. She does it for herself!

Libel laws are more lenient when it comes to public figures, and everyone featured in these tabloids counts as one. As long as the publication doesn't know what they're printing is false or act with reckless disregard for the truth, it's fine.

I starred this post but definitely disagree. You can't lump programming and gaming communities together to start. You'd also have to explain how exactly Comp Sci has supposedly become MORE misogynistic/sexist in 30 years as if the 1980s were better years for gender equality.

Why is she putting the blame on "our economy" and not the women who fail to pursue those degrees, or whatever is preventing them from graduating?

I care so little, and the low ratings justify that.

Keith got all self-righteous and overreacted to something? NO WAY!

This is why it's going to be so difficult to replace Jon.

So... I'm pretty unimpressed with Larry Wilmore's show. Maybe I caught it on off nights, but both times I watched it I didn't find it funny or terribly interesting. Meh. I want it to succeed! But meh.

Fuck buddy goes to his room and he's not there, fucks up his room because he didn't come back to his apartment in a timeframe appropriate for her.

It's just a theory, since nobody seems capable of admitting that he simply didn't deserve to win, regardless of skin color.

I see where you're coming from here, but at this point like, what were they supposed to do? It was too late for them to backtrack and change the nominations (I guess? That would have been awesome, but probably also written up as pandering, so). I'm pretty sure they would have gotten the same amount of shit if they had

To fit into the new quasi PC world we will no longer give awards for talent demonstrated or being the best at something. All awards will now be given out based on the color of skin or gender, as long the person isn't white or male.

Honestly? The majority would disagree with you. He didn't even win the Globe, so I guess the Globes are racist too? Maybe the Academy was offended they couldn't find a black AMERICAN man to play a black American man. Everything about it was wrong from the start.

Ah, Straw Man Fallacy at its finest.

While the Oscars DID smack of racist guilt, I think this notion that actors SHOULD be nominated to foster diversity is insane.

The problem isn't the Oscars; the problem is the film-making industry. Minority actors aren't nominated because very few movies about minority characters are made. Women directors/cinematographers/sound editors aren't nominated because very few studios hire women in those roles. Expecting the Oscars to embrace

Brown peeps don't count as "people of color?"

A hispanic/latino guy won best director/best picture, but I guess that doesn't matter.

That's the second law of motion. Second law of thermodynamics has to do with entropy.

Of course, me after drinking coffee.
