Yeah, that’s why I take issue with people calling BotW just an open-world game without the map icons. BotW has enough confidence in the player and the world design to let people lose and discover stuff at their own leisure. Then there’s a game like Immortals: Fenyx Rising that is LITERALLY an Ubisoft open world game…
I’m no economy expert, but I think I solved the stock market. People just need to buy all the stocks and never sell, that way the imaginary money only goes up.
I mean... for me the game introduces character and either doesn’t give you enough time to really get to know them (basically any new character) or just reduces them to one note (basically any returning character). There’s big obvious swings towards themes of family, but they don’t really land or go anywhere. And also…
I was able to nab it on sale over the holidays and I’m glad I didn’t sleep on it. It might just be “more Borderlands” but it’s at least it does some interesting stuff with it. Heck, the Bounty of Blood dlc is basically a self-contained semi-serious space western and hardly a Borderlands story at all. Its neat! (It…
I...uh....huh...
Yes! The new Apex mode and additions are pretty fun! I’m a bit disappointed Kotaku didn’t cover it more, but giving Pathfinder (the robot who wants to be everyone’s friend) a noir backstory is INCREDIBLY good lore.
I had kind of burned myself out on this game’s shrines by the time I got to the pinball one. It was cool in a “look what we could do with the pieces we had on hand, pretty clever, right?” kind of way, but...idk.
I only got a few months off near the start of the pandemic, but during that time I played through Final Fantasy VII Remake and it was just the kind of game I needed at the time. I’ve barely played the original, but the game just has this cozy nostalgic vibe and fun characters. It’s just fun to chill and do some…
Oh god, please to make me talk about Naruto and/or all the freaky eye stuff there is in Naruto. Why can’t ninjas have magic ear powers or something instead?
This is maybe a weird question, but do you have to have robo-eyes in this game or can you have normal human eyes? I got a slight phobia with eyeballs -namely the harming or replacement of- so some of those pictures are making my skin crawl a bit.
Yeah I kinda lucked out with a premade build that was just in my price range and came with a 3070. Trying to find the individual pieces is terrible with all the shortages, plus I didn’t want to build a new rig myself. (I think my novice building may have shortened the life of my old pc)
I got myself a new PC rig for Christmas. My old desktop died during the start of the pandemic so I’ve been living off a laptop since then. Having a full desktop setup again feels really good after all this time! And I was able to snag a build with a 3070 RTX, so I'm just installing games to see how much better they…
I got no big opinions, but hearing a grown man say “the single most scariest game ever” is incredibly hilarious to me.
The only other game I’ve seen do that is also a cyberpunk game called VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action. It had options for A LOT of options for customizing your experience, from far-outsid-the-normal-he/she/they pronouns to specific dietary restrictions. It was neat.
I know how you feel about Watch_Dogs (people forget that title has an ESSENTIAL underscore!). After playing so many games in NYC and the like, I thought seeing the more familiar city of Chicago in a video game would be fun. Instead we got a bunch of snarky parody “ha, you can’t sue us now, Chase Tower!” buildings and…
I've had my eye on this game because I want a good BotW-like and Genshin Impact just didn't scratch that itch for me. This one sounds more my speed.
