It really is a great game that didn’t get enough love back in the day. I also think the fact that it’s a real tight experience that doesn’t go on too long is one of its biggest strengths.

For me, this is a win.  Combat in Apex is different from almost every other FPS and to be a casual player is hard.  I would use arena’s to get that combat practice, but it always felt super competitive and I was often the anchor on the team.  This will let me relax while learning how to shoot.

That’s because Emmet is just some regular guy, not an iconic character people have been growing up with for 40 years, and who has had a well-established voice for more than half of that time.

Overwatch’s problem was that it basically made every design/number/stat/class/hero decision based off the whims of a 700-ish person Pro scene almost exclusively. Apex seems more like it’s MM system is busted than anything else.

Video games are so weird. Imagine going to the park with a couple of friends to play a pick up game and like 10% of the time an NBA prospect joined in.

Yeah, the Apex subreddit is nowhere near an accurate representation of the player base. I’ve only played a few matches so far but I like the new legend and I feel like I’m getting matched with more people at my skill level, so I’m having fun! Plus the map rework is great, was missing this one. 

This is rather more ironic given that this is the effectively same studio that was targeted a decade or so ago.
