At this point I play Ubisoft games in a fairly cynical “just play for the content” kind of way because all their big AAA games have this weird corporate 70-year-old alien trying to figure out what The Kids are into kinda feel.

I just came here to mention Otta. Running into an unapologetically American-accented Cody Bellinger as a baseball-playing viking is so amazingly baffling and terrible that it becomes good again.

I remember my favorite strategy in Watch Dogs 2 was calling the cops/hitmen on enemies from the safety of a rooftop across the street. Just waves after waves of poor goons going in and arresting/murdering everyone until there was nobody left and I could just walk in no problem.

They’ve already said you get one challenge star for every 10,000XP you earn.

Now playing

I’m also now watching a good video on the new map and it looks so cool~

Everything seems great, but I’m not sure about the new Challenge system (or I’m not understanding it correctly). Part of the current system I like is that Dailies are all weighted equally, so I can just focus on the easier ones without feeling like I’m wasting my time. Because I got a terrible KDA ratio, challenges

They’ve been slowly dripping more info for the next season over the last week or so, Kotaku has just waited until now to make a post out of it. And it launches tomorrow (I’m pretty happy because no matter how this election turns out, I’m gonna need something to look forward to tomorrow.)

Speaking of Titanfall... Apex is getting a pretty big update next week. I know you had a small update on the Switch port a few days ago, but the bigger news is the new season. New map, cars, and a new character. And all signs are pointing towards time-traveling shenanigans in that game too.

Im really excited for next season! We're getting a new map, vehicles, and an Irish space mom.

Maybe this is just because I love Monster Hunter and I’m cautiously optimistic about this movie (Authentic monsters! Palicos! Meowscular Chef! Ron Pearlman!) but I have a real pet peeve of nerds using esoteric nitpicks to hide and validate their gut reactions. Like, just say “Yucky! I don’t like it!”

I mean, the hunters on Monster Hunter World’s boxart are using beginner weapons and armor that take more damage from fire while facing down a Rathalos. Ain’t seeing fans nitpick that.

Yeah, like...I get it kinda, elemental weaknesses are part of the hunting prep in the game. But this is also the kind of an esoteric cinema sins nitpick for the movie, let alone a poster.

So...does this include discs? I see it talk about labeling on the PSN store, but nothing about discs. I mean, I'd assume so, but I'd wanna make sure first.

I mean, the fat backwards-compatable PS3 had similar issues. I had a disc for Speed Racer: The Video Game that flat out refused to run properly, with everything from repeating sounds, missing textures, and crashes on the menu. Games just be weird.

Apex is having one of it’s mid-season events, so I’ll probably be playing mostly that. The game was giving me a lot of connection problems the first day (they just added cross-play) so I gotta catch up.

I don’t really have any opinions other than I once heard Funko Pops described as “Precious Moments figurines for nerds.”

Lets be honest though, the lore and stories of Monster Hunter are paper thin compared to what the games are really about: giant monster fights and cat puns.

I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I really REALLY wanna see this movie. I'm a huge Monster Hunter fan, so having Diablos burst from the sand with it's signature scream is like a Marvel fan getting teased by Thanos in a post-credits scene.

I mean, yeah, I’ll watch it and I’ll probably love it. I’m a huge Monster Hunter fan, so having Diablos pop out of the sand and belt out it’s signature roar is like having Thanos pop up in a post-credits scene to me. I’ll gobble that up even if it’s mostly terrible.

I can forgive them if they make Diablos a carnivore given that it tends to murder anything that gets within 100 meters of it.
