Plus they are pretty damn fast for their size. Tarantulas are pretty mellow and rarely move fast, and are fuzzy looking which I think helps some, lol.

Even the sun spider in AZ where I grew up were pretty scary, and they are not nearly as large as the camel spiders you see in pictures from the middle east. I had a tarantula as a pet, and am not particularly afraid of spiders but I would never pick up a sun/camel spider. They are just freaky looking.

Even the somewhat smaller sun spiders we had in AZ were pretty scary. I caught a cricket and dropped it in front of one once, and the sun spider just tore that cricket apart in a couple of seconds.
