Definitely not the best episode, but decent. The developing relationship was the best part of it, far better than the fairly tired time loop plot device (though it was done decently enough here...except for the fact that all that had to be remembered each time around was “don’t beam aboard the space

Death Proof < Absolutely every other film ever made.

And fuck you for ignoring the plight of the Yemenis, the Palestinians, the Syrians, and everybody else everywhere (including in the US) who live in horrific conditions (when they aren’t being bombed to death with our munitions or poisoned to death by Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama forcing them to overturn fracking

Thank you. Not that the willfully ignorant will change their opinion over this, but well-said.

Are you truly as stupid as your post indicates or is are you just that dishonest?

I know, I know. I wanted to make it very clear that I don’t consider my idiosyncratic opinions to be any kind of absolute judgment. Going back to Matt Berry here, my love of Snuff Box actually was a dark, nihilistic bridge too far for my close media-watching friends.

My ringtone for a very long time, until Toast of London. Berry is a jingle-king.

I bailed on American Gods during the Vulcan climax with the sword. Holy shit that was bad. Some really bad acting there, and bad dialog. And bad plotting. A legitimately bad show in this time of so many great, great shows. The over-saturated visuals feel like a very juvenile sense of coolness (not that I’m defending

Thank you for mentioning that. His art is definitely such a huge part of why these comics are so damned good.

He was also the Flash during Morrison’s JLA run, the only comic run of the team as pure and fun as the cartoon, maybe even more so.

It would have been awesome if you came back and promoted a comment that was actually about Nnedi Okorafor. I really would have liked to talk about her participation on this comic. She’s a really tremendous voice in science fiction, both and concept and actual writing chops. She’s an elite executor of the English

Holy shit, Nnedi Okorafor!!! I have to say that as much as I love his essays, I’ve been singularly underwhelmed by Coates’ fiction-writing chops on his BP comics. But Ms Okorafor’s Who Fears Death absolutely blew me away when it came out, as did the follow-up The Book of Phoenix.

Well chosen! Ditko Spidey still rules all these decades later.

Yes, I’m 100% sure. I was a Mignola fan before Hellboy. I read Hellboy as it came out and loved it and the character of Abe Sapien. I saw this trailer and, just like the first time I read Abe Sapien, thought The Creature From the Black Lagoon. Del Toro’s fanboydom for the Creature clearly goes back to childhood,

You guys both rock.

Oh, I know, buddy. Believe me. IKNOW

Came to say the same thing, including caps and exclamation points.

Whoo-EEE! Look at you, girl! You’re still as fiiine-lookin’ as a crème brûlée!

I think I might, if only just to see. I had nothing against it (Warburton was such an obviously appropriate choice), I just wasn’t watching much tv at the time.
