That blows. I really liked that show.
I have found a more wretched hive of scum and villainy - slideshows on Giz.
The thing that gets me about people who cry “cancel culture” is that implicit in their argument is an acknowledgement that a large number of people find their views abhorrent, and rather than view that as an opportunity for self-reflection, they complain that people reject those views. It’s almost as though they don’t… Read more
Exactly - and “lush sets”? The second season sets looked like they were made of cardboard. BBC scifi from the 50's had better sets.
Yeah, it’s an Everyman’s Library edition. I just bought it a couple months ago at a used bookshop but haven’t started it yet.
So ridiculous. People like Facebook because it’s NOT Twitter. Just look at how much of the screen is taken up with questionable functionality FB is trying to force on users, most of whom are just there for the Newsfeed which is now just a tiny little rectangle above the fold. I was looking for a reason to dump… Read more

Hate the video. Couldn’t give a shit less about podcasts. How about more slideshows? They’re universally reviled also. If you want to give us more of what we love, you’re going to have to actually find out what that is.
My NPR listening has actually increased lately. I used to listen on the train to work and back. Now I just keep it on pretty much all day in the background; at least when I’m not in meetings. It helps keep me from feeling too alone. When the whole lock down thing started, I pretty much sat in the quiet dark for the… Read more
Definitely the worst UI of any streaming app, bar none. At least they fixed the buffering problems. Deleting an show still only works about 10% of the time on the Roku app, though. I guess you get what you pay for.
I enjoyed the first season, even though it was toned down from the movie. My expectations were that was due to stretching out the themes over the course of a multi-season story line. I will watch the second season, but I’m less interested in the La Femme Nikita / Red Sparrow stuff. Mirielle Enos is great in everything… Read more
