PSA - Thanksgiving flavored (a.k.a. pumpkin spice) drip coffee at home also sucks...unless, perhaps, you go through the rigamarole of making your own pumpkin spice whipped cream to top it off...never got that far.

For pre-Watch 7, none of this compensates for the across-the-board removal of support for force touch...I’ll be rocking the current WatchOS on my Watch 3 until it stops being a watch... I think my blood oxygenation can wait until then

Exactly! Your choice, America...more deaths or more privacy? South Korea’s response has been impressive!

Hmm. Still waiting for my small/budget iPhone. Maybe in 2020. Rocking my iPhone SE, but it’s getting a bit long in the tooth!

Any chance of the iPhone SE successor? My battery life is a little sad, and would appreciate a small new phone to upgrade to...

Well, presumably this doctoral candidate isn’t stupid enough and doesn’t have time to attempt to enter the US illegally...

“Designed” parks aren’t nature. Go on a hike. But that’s my opinion. I guess if you’re in a big city, a park may be the best you can do on a weekly basis.

I’m a frequent aisle-seat-traveler because I do get up to walk occasionally and prefer to be inconvenienced (by the middle or window-seat folks) than to inconvenience others...but getting up every 30 minutes? On a red-eye I’d be giving you the stink-eye :-)

...but I thought some of the benefit of ice coffee is that you brew the coffee cold, generally overnight, and end up with more caffeine in the finished product. This presumably wouldn’t happen with chilled hot-brewed coffee.

For what it’s worth, I tried these back-to-back against the Bose, and in my opinion Bose still wins out. Just bought a pair. With this category of device, it’s really down to personal preference...try before you buy.

Yep, as long as drivers drive at the current rates, Uber has no reason to change. Strike has to last, or drivers need to leave for other $9+/hr jobs. Once drivers become rare, Uber corporate will pay attention...but not until then.

When I read students knew it was fake, I thought this was a great idea...but reading the Detroit Free Press link makes it sound like a legitimate-looking institution. The university’s level of authenticity really determines the morality of this approach.

You’d probably get fired for doing this in the U.S.

Would be the best two things Apple could do right now!

Looks like both are available at the moment...

Anything that can put your files or information on the web can be hacked or can change its data use policy such that unanticipated sharing can happen. In other words, if you want it private, don’t connect it to the web (via Facebook, Instagram, iCloud, Alexa, Siri, etc).

So no new essential functionality, and seemingly no fix to Outlook/Enterprise compatibility. Sticking with Sierra :-)

I dunno about that labor cost. 13,400 man hours translates to 6.4 years of regular (5 days a week, 8 hours a day) working days.

Firing squad is probably much cheaper than the methods used today...

That they are trying to patent it doesn’t necessarily mean they intend to do it. On the flip side, they may have been doing it well before Dec. 2016 (the filing date) and only then decided to patent. On the dark side, there are probably dozens of more invasive user privacy practices in place at Facebook that aren’t
