“as a willfully uninformed MLS skeptic”
HOAs are nice because you can have all the nitpicking, micromanagement, and invasive rules of living in an apartment complex, but you don’t have to put up with being able to call maintenance and have someone fix stuff for you.
HOAs are their own special circle of hell.
Removed of that particular detail, though, this story offers yet further proof that an awful lot of Americans (not all, as not all are either opportunistic hypocrites nor do all necessarily like American soldiers) are willing to scream “RESPECT OUR TROOPS” when it is…
this is my face when i say i dont have an ounce of empathy for someone who is stupid enough to live in an hoa and pay someone to tell them how to live in their house.
“sues you for something he doesn’t like”
If you want even the bare minimum by way of workplace protections, a malevolent billionaire WILL come and sue you out of existence for publishing something he doesn’t like.
Forty years ago nobody had any idea how deeply global central banks would embed themselves in the economy. Things are quite different. When your 30yr risk free return is 2.13% and inflation is intentionally unacknowledged you have to buy equity of some sort. It’s the only way you keep up. Those that can’t are left…
This is all second-hand knowledge from auto racing helmets, but there are two basic concerns with older helmets (other than design advances making newer ones generally safer):
As something of a gun nut myself, on one level this makes me a bit apprehensive. OTOH, as a semi-sane American, it makes me very happy.
Yes, one of the many reasons this crap is so ridiculous is because it’s not remotely safe to be wearing an 11-year-old helmet anyway, especially if it’s taken 11 years of beatings. You would think the guy personally at risk for traumatic brain damage would care about a thing like that.
That’s why they don’t certify any gear older than 10 years, even if it’s otherwise up to standard. It’s the same sort of rule they use for construction safety equipment.
Jesus, let him play in whatever helmet he wants. It's clearly too late to prevent a serious brain injury.
Or maybe the wealthy professional football team he plays for could figure out a way to get its hands on one for him.
I would actually kind of love it if this became the “Al Capone tax evasion” of the Trump administration. If manage to dodge all the accusations of obstruction but end up in prison for throwing a shitty, expensive party, it would have a certain poetic grace.
IIRC, courts can invalidate NDAs and they cannot be used to conceal illegal behavior. It’s time to spill your guts, Ms. Wolkoff.
Wonder how literate she is in the other 4 languages she apparently speaks.
She came to America hoping that her husband would teach her how to read an write.
Hogs
Come and try ta’ snatch my crops
These pigs want to chew my corn down
Snoots underground
To the next town
They get mad when they come to raid my pad
But I’m waitin’ with my gun and Chad.
I just returned from a trip to Maui. The last morning, as I was loading our luggage into our rental car, a beat up pickup truck with a half dozen hound dogs caged in the back pulled into the parking lot of the beach front condo where we were staying. Three guys got out of the cab, each wearing shirts with boar hunting…
