Pelosi is stating that the public mandate in districts such as AOC’s/yours is not necessarily the mandate of the entire United States. Which is objectively accurate. Each congressperson needs to act in the best interests of their constituents—represent them. And I’m glad that AOC is properly representing you.

“Give a little get a little” is her job. She’s a legislator. In functioning democracies (so like not us) that means working out compromises. I don’t get why people here either seem to not understand that or simply not accept it. The former concerns me less, but the latter and the absolutism it implies does not seem to

I would imagine Emily meant to reference the negative ethnic connotations.

They can’t find allies because they don’t have any practical responses to deal with the all the people coming to the southern border with families.

Primary the shit of Pelosi and get even less for her district? With seniority comes money. What would a newbie with no power help Pelosi’s district?

Just a day or so ago, Jezebel had an article on Nancy Grace coming back to TV. Just saying. . . there’s crossover potential here.

The embezzling president of the Selena fan club shot Selena in a hotel room. What else is there to say?

I’m woke, I’m angry, I care about stuff, but I don’t get this: “folksy” (and all the accompanying race and class connotations of the expression)

No, it’s what it looks like when a woman in a senior position refuses to be belittled or sidelined by younger women who have a lot to learn. I see this kind of shit in the workplace...A LOT...and I don’t think it’s any less inappropriate as a slap fight on Twitter.

There’s a way to stop this . . . it’s called voting.

I mean, Pelosi won her home district in 2018 with a higher percentage of the vote than AOC did, 87% to 76%. That’s a pretty significant gap right there. And the person on the short end of it is accusing the other of being out-of-touch?

Headline: Twitter world gets mad for being called Twitter world. Responds via Twitter.

Let’s just name Rapinoe, the next head of USA Soccer and future FIFA President.

But that’s not accurate, the USMNT did put out a statement of support. Deadspin purposefully chose not to include it here.

They put out a press release supporting them in their fight...

Man, these guys really won’t defend anything.
