What kind of witch craft is this? You can make chocolate chips? I guess I never should have cancelled my BonAppetit subscription—I am really behind the times. I have never even heard of such a thing. Do you buy blocks of high-quality chocolate and it chops them?

I was lucky. Similar situation but red is my favorite color. Bought mine as a factory refurbished unit (had been used at trade shows, refurbished at the factory, sold at a discount) and they had it in red! My theory about everything is that when it's a good price, it's cuter.

My first Cuisinart was white and it yellowed with age. Now I have a red one (to match my red KitchenAid stand mixer) and I love it. Happy cooking when you get it.

Where can I find a listing of all of the Kinja blogs (the minor ones like Powder Room and Lego and tons I've probably never heard of)? I'm constantly discovering new ones, but only if an article happens to get mainpaged on Jez. Who knew there was a Lego blog?

Thanks. This is probably what I want. The ones I've tried have been too dry, probably because they don't have enough fat in them. I eat healthily but I'm all about the flavor. Real butter, cream, and cheese all the way.

It's like Christmas. You are allowed to eat whatever the fuck you want today.

And it sounds like your brothers hating on you just makes it all even better! I think you can definitely compete for best gift.

I have a test Wednesday so I wanted to get my paper out of the way (it's due on Tuesday).

Oooh! What kind of food processor are you getting? That's a good gift. Lunch 2 weeks from now will be so much nicer than anything going on in a restaurant today...

YES! Sometimes it's more the kid not taking you seriously when you tell them they have to go home. I still feel bad because once I made one of my daughter's friends cry (I'm a horrible person), but it was about the fourth time I'd sent her home and she would just show up again 15 minutes later. When I sent her

Kind of a weird question, but if the quinoa mac and cheese was an online recipe, can you post the link? I've tried 2 or 3 different recipes on Pinterest, and none of them were very good.

So glad I'm not the only one who had to do a paper today. Finished it so now I can look forward to the cocktails a neighbor said she would bring over this evening...

We finished by 8. I got buttered toast, a bracelet made by my daughter, and a homemade card too! My husband, however, knows he better show up with a gift card to my favorite store or he's in trouble! (He did.)

Agree 1,000,000%. I always knew I just wanted one. I saw that 2 kids didn't double the work, it MORE than doubled the work of having one. For me, one is manageable, two would not be. I have never regretted having my kid.

And Lindy hits it out of the park, again. My favorite part:

You remind me of my aunt and uncle. He hated taking girls on dates who only ordered salad or didn't eat and enjoy their meals. Part of my aunt's attraction was that she ordered real food and she ate it. With gusto. Hooray for eating!

I've always wondered who among us is famous... maybe I am really Carol and Burt is really Burt.

This comment deserves its own post. You win the special Carol Burnett gold sparkly star today:

If I can join the oversharing party, with regard to getting a local there, it might not hurt as much as you think. I had a local when I had an abortion, and the shot is given inside—couldn't say exactly where—and it really didn't hurt at all. A tiny pinch. Novocaine at the dentist hurts way more.

I respectfully disagree. I think this is a message of reality, because that was my reality. I felt exactly like this before and after my abortion. It was so many years ago I can't even say exactly, but between 15 and 20 years ago.
