I’m so sorry that my personal enjoyment of something has bothered you.

I’ve watched the first two episodes twice. It feels the most like a Lucas Star Wars movie, of any of their shows, to me*.

*Final arc of The Clone Wars excepted but TCW started before the Disney acquisition
*Andor feels more akin to THX-1138 to me

Nonsense. The best Jedi in the show is the fat Jedi who let the bad guy walk right out the door under his nose. I suspect he’s a Porkins.

The Jedi are not a monolith

A good tailor knows how to measure twice and cut once.

I love Garak, and I love DS9 (best Trek series, IMO). Sisko and the Federation were by this point quite desperate, and when one is that desperate you go to plain, simple Garak for solutions

You know what would be fun? Another Mario game in the mold of long-lost Mario 2. Yes, it was just a skin of another game, but it’s far better known as Mario 2 and would be fun to toss some turnips at Snifits and Ninjis again in the modern era. #JusticeForWart

A Batman that kills is just The Punisher with less thought.

Zack Synder’s fans: “He’s a poet. A genius. A master storyteller whose incredible vision is wasted on his critics.”

I really hate when people like this insist that a superhero not killing their enemies, or a superhero being kind, or a superhero not being a raging sociopath, is unrealistic and therefore should be abandoned. The entire fucking concept of superheros is unrealistic, very much including the so-called “grounded” heroes

Batman doesn’t kill because Batman is a children’s fiction hero. Children’s fiction heroes have an elevated sense of morality because they are meant to be an example for the next generation, a light in the gloom of the current. In the real world, there are no superheroes and some cops kill people to save people (some

Also I think the market can only support so many forever games

Its the MMO thing all over again. Everyone was trying to get inon that sub money WoW had - and no one could really do it. Everyone one of them spent a ton of money and fizzled. It took how many years and a massive reboot before FFXIV came along?? That is a lot of studio time and money dumped in the trash heap.

We’ve reached a point in the games industry where trends are moving faster than development cycles, and the results are calamitous.

I’m... gonna be that girl and point out that I *really* hope this movie isn’t suggesting that taking cover under an overpass is a good idea in a tornado. That myth has legit caused people to die (OG Twister did that too, but that was before the 1999 Bridge Creek EF5 where multiple people died under overpasses. We know

I believe that Kotaku can and should write about “nerd” culture, and that includes really cool movies.
