The media, they want to put it on me but at the end of the day it’s like, I don’t think it’s moreso about that. I think it’s moreso about stepping up to figure out what the problem is and I can take that. I can take stepping up to figure out what the problem is.
I wasn’t speaking to California in general, but rather Marin County specifically. It was a joke, I was obviously exaggerating. But I have an uncle who lives in Fairfax, a small town in Marin Co, whose home is about the same size as mine, and probably worth $1M whereas I’d maybe get 200K for my house right now.
To be clear, I think the charges and the trial are a fucking joke. I’m not advocating for any kind of harsh sentence for Smollett.
I read the whole sentence, and in making your point, omitting the word “especially” is doing a whole lot of heavy lifting. So, yeah, the statement definitely flat-out said to never believe the police, full stop. Everything after “especially” was an an add-on. And an “especially” ridiculous one to paint a grifter as a…
Fair enough. But human beings aren’t broken clocks. They’re human beings. Nobody is lying 99.9 percent of the time.
In our commitment to abolition, we can never believe police
As a Bulls fan, I thank you guys for letting Caruso go. Him, Lonzo and my sweet baby boy Ayo have been a fucking turbo boost to our perimeter D.
It’s not necessarily unfair in a superstar-driven league to blame the superstar, even if the organization from the top down, the third star that was brought in that everyone knew would be a bad idea, the health/availability issues of the arguable GOAT and the construction of the back end of the roster are bigger…
Agreed. AD’s individual stats- either box score or advanced metric- that align with his HOF-level career numbers are probably fair to trust. Something like on/off stats showing the Lakers have been better without him on the floor so far? Yeah, that’s some early season sample size theater.
Anthony Davis is one of those guys that is so freakish and unicorn-ish that he creates this unreasonable idea of how good he should be, that seemingly obfuscates how fucking good he’s actually been this year (and many other years).
Totally agree. And then it becomes a double whammy in which schools in those neighborhoods get far less funding because of how much lower property taxes are. Land/home ownership and education are probably the two best ways to escape poverty and create generational wealth.
Paul and Tenisha Austin purchased their home in Marin County back in 2016 for $550,000 then made around $400,000 worth of extensive renovations, including an added 1,000 square feet of space
He’s been “trash” by the standards of his incredible play in the 2020 playoffs, maybe. He was hurt last year, but this year he’s been healthy and excellent. His shooting percentages aren’t “way down.” His outside shooting has been terrible, but he’s more than made up for that by being more dominant at the rim than…
Blaming the one guy who’s been healthy and very good/borderline great on both ends of the floor, solely because he’s in a shooting slump, is preeeetty silly stuff.
I miss the version of The Rock that would’ve cut a vicious heel promo on the Make a Wish kid.
Maybe he realized he’s a mediocre, middle-of-the-road pop rapper that doesn’t deserve awards?
Yep, this. Bad teams don’t promote assistants to head coach when the current head coach leave, because bad teams clean house. Good programs have continuity, institutional knowledge, etc that’s worth continuing.
Also, as a white dude who, as a rule, celebrates Black coaches being hired and Black excellence in general, I think it’s a great hire for Notre Dame. But as a person who’s married to a woman from South Bend and thus has many friends who are diehard ND fans, I cannot in good conscience actually root for him.…
He’s Notre Dame’s first Black coach. Ty Willingham was a half-powered robot set to “aloof bore of a human” and his makers made sure his football teams reflected it.
