I think the gubernatorial race is going to be key. My hope is we break the trend of alternating parties from term to term - which considering the disdain for Trump - may just happen. I know Gillespie strategically distanced himself from Trump, but he’s still party line GOP and I’m afraid he’d send us backward.  

Yeah, and the GOP just nominated Gillespie, a man who almost unseated Warner from the Senate. We’re going to need to push hard behind Northam, because this state is going to backslide hard just as soon as we don’t have a Democrat in place to veto the state GOP’s agenda.

The governorsd race will always make me nervous. The off year thing makes it all about turn out. I’m hoping this year we have the momentum.

Yeah, all I care about right now is her strengthening her platform and her debate skills so the voting public can not just see a trailblazer but a more than competent politician who will work for them.
