I still think fondly of the bit where Jack tells Claire he only slept with three of his female ADAs. Then, at the end of the episode, Claire says she checked and he’s only had three female ADAs.

The 1974 version of ‘The Great Gatsby’ is not a particularly excellent film - it’s really hard to live up to the book - but I loved Waterston as Nick Carraway. He found a real sweet spot of naïveté and world weariness.
I don’t know what that means, but it sounds disgusting.
This is a tangent, but reminds me of a friend of mine complaining that reality TV shows these days are full of hot influencers types rather than the people who belong on such shows: severely unhinged outcasts forced to interact with other human beings for perhaps the first time in their lives.
I remember the day after that episode of ‘The Good Place’ came out. A lot of people were processing a lot of new feelings about William Jackson Harper.
Mmmmm ... crevice milk.
Dawn of the Rise of the Planet of Beetlejuice.
I refuse to use my imagination! Just replace him with the digital Peter Cushing.
I just read Shadix’s biography. Guy had some pretty rough times in his life, and died too young.
“Burning to death feels good in a place like this.”
That was the well known “Jeff Bridges Gets Whatever the Fuck He Wants” exclusion.
“Any basic screenwriting course will tell you that death is a cheap short cut to drama, and should be used sparingly, unless there’s a concerted reason.”
I do blame Fincher for all those deadly sin themed murders that keep happening in my neighbourhood, though.
We’re a pattern seeking species; a big part of our intelligence is recognising things that connect to other things and making conclusions about that. Very useful when looking for camouflaged predators, but it can kick into overdrive and suddenly coincidences look like red flags.
I think this is it exactly. So many conspiracy theories are about how the entire world is controlled by “Them” (change the Them to suit your needs), which at least suggests the world is being controlled. If it’s run by the wrong people, it could be run by the right people. Far more existentially terrifying is the…
I am usually pretty wary of ascribing trends in reality to pop culture, but I wonder if a lot of people who become police detectives grew up with media that showed cops following their hunches and always being correct and some have developed an unwarranted faith in their own abilities to “just know” what happened.
Actually, I wouldn’t mind hearing the National have a go at ‘Psycho Killer’. I think Matt Berninger could make a real meal of “Run, run, run, run, run, run, run away.”
“But the real differences Bidegain found with Gyllenhaal were creative. This was Bidegain’s first English-language script, and he and Gyllenhaal disagreed on the overall meaning of the film. Bidegain interrupted the meaning, “This is the end of the world, and, perhaps, love can save us.” Gyllenhaal, however, saw…
I keep wondering if one day the intense adoration people have for Swift will click for me - if I’ll see or hear something she does and she’ll seem in some way more remarkable than any other pop star out there. Up until now I just haven’t gotten it.
I think I’ve read that as the voting population in America increases, the Republican share of the vote invariably shrinks. Hard-line conservatives basically have no choice but to discourage registration - it leads to them losing elections.
