I have an easy and extremely plausible explanation for both 1 and 2: nobody who watches Fox News does know what erudite means.

A. She was joking and B. Even if she was dead serious, it’s still no legal basis for appeal.
“Absolutely ridiculous! I fully disagree with both verdicts, and will be appealing this whole Biden Directed Witch Hunt focused on me and the Republican Party. Our Legal System is out of control, and being used as a Political Weapon,” he wrote. “They have taken away all First Amendment Rights. THIS IS NOT AMERICA!”
Even if Trump can somehow put up the 80 mil required before he can appeal, they have no basis for appeal. The trial judge bent over backward not to fuck things up, and bless him.
I never thought he’d be much else. He’s an asshole. But he’s STILL less of an asshole than Dr. Oz would have been. That’s American politics, I guess.
Well stated....and WAY too nuanced for a lot of the commenters out there.
Silly Bob! Good liberals only vote on things that will fix the entire world in one fell swoop...important things like the economy, not incremental improvements that will help the ladies with all...you know...that lady business up in there.
Same. How many actual crimes do you think got committed out there while they were presumably digging through this poor miscarrying woman’s septic tank?
I agree, but I still feel the “necessary abortion” is a useful distinction when pointing out what this is really about for conservatives. If the baby, the woman’s life (or, really, anything except chaining us all to a kitchen stove and bedpost) mattered to these people, the distinction would make a difference to them.
Oh fuck you, Nursie. And nice to see you, Thunder. :)
It seems important to emphasize that you shouldn’t have to be publicly excited about your pregnancy to not be criminalized for a miscarriage, nor should you be regarded as criminally suspect based on your reaction to your miscarriage.
Thank you for taking the time, though. I didn’t know ANY of that except the Bay of Pigs a little (I knew about it, but it never occurred to me that Cubans would associate the debacle with a specific party), and it’s food for thought.
Oh yuck I had forgotten about those. I think the astronaut was my favorite...like the Orange Turdstick could even pass high school physics, let alone the astronauty shit.
Now, I hate usually hate doxxing...fucking HATE that we live in a world where you say or do something (usually dumb rather than malicious) and end up with the internet piling in on you. But since it happens anyway and we can’t stop it, god damn it, let’s have the name of that nurse!
I don’t wish death on either but dear god, please let neither of them make any more not-worth-the-hype music that my much-younger relatives make me listen to. Is that so much to ask?
I know. But when I’m talking about “deluded followers” I’m talking about the red state rubes. Big GOP donor assholes like the Kochs who expect tax breaks etc. are not deluded in any way; they’re going to get something for their money and they know it.
Holy hell. I can’t look away. It’s the finest piece of Christosexual confusion I’ve seen since this happened:
Yes and no. That would be on Trump but even though any sane person knows that Trump’s legions of morons do whatever he says, including trying to kill his perceived enemies, it’s really hard to prove causation in a legal sense. It’s like January 6...Trump can claim that he just says stuff; if people choose to follow…
Shhh! Can’t you stop your harpy-like screeching long enough for Justin to reinvent the emotional wheel?
Part of it is the media, which is now just a slave to clicks. Biden’s administration has been quietly working on (and occasionally getting done) a number of things that will help a lot of Americans. They’re just not sexy or disastrous things, so there’s no money in covering them. No Presidential administration should…
