Personally I loved the swapping between first and third person in DX:HR. It gave better situational awareness then first person could ever give.

I could not really get into the Aht Urghan expansion very much. But the 3 nations + Zilart + CoP + Apocalypse Nigh was a full Final Fantasy game. I thought Apocalypse Nigh caped off the story perfectly.
