Yeah, this is the thing that drives me up the wall about the Avengers commentary. It’s all linked back to when they only released 2-3, not-too-spoilery missions for their open beta. People REFUSED to acknowledge it was a beta, aka a test of the game systems, and decided to review it like it was an early launch.

I find language and its evolution fascinating, but I think that’s actually what grates against my ears so hard about the way H’aanit speaks. It’s not the product of evolution that makes sense, it’s just arbitary misuses of variants from within the language.

That’s not what confirmation bias is.

I don’t agree.

Yeah, I think that’s the thing.

Same. I had never even heard of the slur before I started dating my boyfriend, who is Jewish.

Gamestop isn’t even that right NOW. They definitely won’t be later.

Yeah, I think you’re nailing it.

I think the key to what makes Zagreus a better protagonist is that he doesn’t have to fit a preconceived idea of a Greek hero. Because that role is kinda always a tool. It’s not their fault, it’s just sorta baked into the character. And because it’s existed so long, and so many tools have tried to emulated it.... now

Her mother’s particularly intense Wisconsin accent was another thing I found deeply out of place. It was so... weird...

I absolutely will not!

This absolutely isn’t “reading into” AoT. The entire manga/anime is an ode to fascism. It’s in the direct DNA of the work, and it’s constantly present.

My argument being based on data that you view as fundamentally flawed is still stronger than a claim that you pulled out of nowhere.

I’ll confess, as the number of settings menus have increased, I’ve stopped looking through all of them on new devices.

Counterpoint: Nothing can make up for that god awful way she speaks.

I mean, in fairness, I don’t expect a dad beating to be necessary in that situation because I expect an actual adult who beats up a child for going on a date with a 13 year old he wants to fuck to be in prison after that...

I’m also so tired of the lovable, lecherous man trope. So very, very tired.

Oh man, that sounds amazing.
