I averaged .26 kWh/mi today in a Model 3. That’s 26kWh for 100 miles. I buy my kWh for $.11 at home, so that’s $2.86 for 100 miles. Gas is $3.25/gallon here soooo..

The touch screen works fine for me. Everything is easily accessible and the whole interface works cohesively. And there are knobs on the steering wheel for volume and other functions so I’m not sure how this is supposed to be terribly helpful.

I’ve taught quite a few noobs in this

EVs have already caught on. I don’t need the other cars, I could easily do the Tesla solo. I thought that was pretty apparent from the rate that I buy gas. The other cars are for fun, and a pickup for work.

I’ve got 8k miles on a Model 3 and this is exactly right. I don’t stop for gas OR to charge. I have three other gas cars still and, with the Tesla mixed in, I now put gas in a vehicle about every 6 weeks. There’s almost a novelty to it now. And I never worry if I have enough fuel in the tank when I leave my house in

Wow so much hate! I have a ‘20 F350 for work because I can put 4500 lbs of tile or block or whatever in the bed. I only use it for truck things (because it gets 12 mpg) and I daily the Model 3 or the Miata depending on how dirty I plan on getting. There are reasonable uses for this vehicle out there, and once in a

There are no lights to dim. There are no lights. There are no buttons to push. I don’t want a Saab. Every car has a dimmer control for the interior lights, how is this a Saab thing? Why is everyone here from Big Saab? Does Saab even make cars anymore?

Ok.. I still like it in the 3

It’s funny, this is one of the things I LOVE about my Model 3. At night there are exactly zero lights in front of you. No gauge cluster, no dash lights, no steering wheel lights. Below the windshield is effectively invisible. Obviously the big ol screen is close by, but in night mode it’s pretty unobtrusive. It’s the

Brilliant Kev.

This please.

I’m in Jersey and I rarely stop at a station that’s even half full. Then again, I don’t supercharge unless I have to because the real savings and convenience come from charging at home.

You get two key cards. I keep one in my wallet, one at home.

Woah everyone, don’t get me wrong here. I have the Ford keypad in the driveway also and I love it for what it is. Pros and cons to the keypad and the phone, but both are great.

I’m gonna have to save a few of these photos for the next time someone asks me to define ‘butterface’.

I thought this also for a few years, then I got a Tesla and now all I need is my phone in my pocket. How quickly the convenience bar gets raised.

I actually turn the screen off regularly in my Miata. Once in a while I’ll use it for AA or to change the music, but other than that I don’t want to look at it.

This was a great read. I did a push button starter on an ‘84 Audi 4000 Quattro way back in the day. I rigged it up permanently with a cool toggle switch for the ignition and a red momentary button for the starter. The steering lock was already broken so I figured why not. It was super fun explaining how to turn the

I do maintain all the fluids reasonably regularly. I also found quite a bit of mud and debris caked in every crevice so I’m sure that was a factor. The Jeep sees some pretty rough stuff so I’ve accepted the accelerated wear. The throw out bearing (2nd) was also pretty crunchy though I hadn’t heard a peep out of it
