if i’m not mistaken, AI has been relegated to simple droids and not large purpose ships, due to some historical conflict...That’s why the droids are rather purpose built, as opposed to general AI.

I don’t agree with Katharine’s assessment at all. I really enjoyed the show and was surprised at how straight it was played. Yeah, they hit all the tropes but I think that was the idea. I don’t mind some sophomoric humor; I mean, not everything has to be high brow, right? There were some funny sex gags - what, people…
