WRONG. You can meet the 55mpg target for 2026 using nothing but hybrids. Or for that matter you could have met the 55mpg target using even 1990 technology with smaller, lighter cars like the Civic VX or Geo Metro.  Also, this is a fleet average. You can balance your fleet with some EV’s and some ICE cars. Nobody is

You have to remember that the average voter votes have no knowledge of issues and policies, and votes the same way they voted for class president back in high school - on the basis of personality, tribal affiliation, and what they had for breakfast that morning.

Space flight is a worthwhile cause

If the rats can live off of it, it can’t be that bad.

That’s what I meant to say, Thanks for that

Rent is totally local. In our area of San Jose for example, Rent has decreased by over 10% compared to last year:

This is all due to the criminal stupidity of Jerome Powell. He kept raising interest rates to combat inflation, without understanding that the high interest rate is creating more inflation at the moment.

I don’t know who is dumber. The HOA board who came up with this rule, or the residents who have to pay $500 a year to park their trucks half a mile away.

Why is there a big open area in the middle? Does the middle of the tail gate not need protection? Or does man-child Elon think this is neat because it looks like a bulltproof vest?

The Space Station was and is a boondoggle. As is human space flight in general. Just scrap the thing already.

You know how amusement parks replaced a lot of their roller coasters with simulated rides?  They should make the cruise ship stationary and just ‘simulate’ the boat cruise. Think of the fuel savings.

Well- do you have those numbers since 2022? Household income is not a great metric because it mixes in trends in household formation. We have lower marriage rates and delays in marriages since Covid. So it’s possible that people wait longer to form two income households. Another trend is that there are more

Now, I could sorta see if he wanted to boost American manufacturing, creating incentives for American-made cars

That’s just as dumb as giving people rich enough to buy new cars a $7,500 tax credit for an EV.

As I said elsewhere, the May 2020 is a cherrypicked starting point that was artificially high. The best way to see the wage trend is to look at the Weekly median wage that I linked to. It’s median, not average, and it is inflation adjusted.

You’ve got to be delusional. Do you really think your 40 year old Audi 4000 and Vanagon are more reliable than a modern Prius?

May 2020 is not a good starting point, because there was an artificial bump to wages in those Covid shut down months:

People are starting to just not buy things.

Where are you getting that 2.3% number now? According to the BLS:

Deflation is definitely a thing. A very dreaded thing that the Feds and every level of government wants to prevent from happening.
