This is the kind of refusal to honestly grapple with reality that is going to get Trump elected to a second term. The big 2 providers are profitable because they have the most customers and the best cost structures. The difference in prices…

We were going to get down to no more than 3 companies, either through bankruptcy or an acquisition / merger. And the 3 companies are going to have to compete fiercely for 2 reasons - 1) their technology changes constantly, and 2) this is all about fixed costs. You have to scale up.

Certainly there are clear predatory practices that should be outlawed. Your advice at the end of the piece is what matters most. People need to take the time to understand and purchase within their means.
