Wait till folks realize they can “just walk out” without any fancy computers and then customer satisfaction will be higher than ever.

Cuts down on labor costs and gets people out of the store faster, reducing congestion and improving customer satisfaction scores.

This is the sort of news I would have used to chide our kids when they were younger.

And honestly since the guy has not bothered to like call his credit card company and approve the charge and won’t come back to pay it a different way, it seems perfectly likely it *was* a stolen card or he gave her such a large tip because he *knew* the charge would flagged and he wouldn’t have to pay.

No.

No no, they made a good faith effort to charge the card. Without the money from the CC charge the restaurant can’t hand over the tip. If the CC owner really meant to give that big of a tip, they’d be down there with cash or a check in hand.

Yeah, well, people used to sacrifice goats but we don’t do that anymore either.

...

thats why everythings a crisis in this country. student loan crisis, housing crisis, delinquent car loan crisis. because stupid ass people spend money they shouldnt.  she should teach her kids the real meaning of christmas.  its not about presents its supposed to be about family.  but if youre a materialistic weasel

It sounds like the total dollar amount tripped a flag at the bank, they contacted card holder for validation and didn’t get a response in a set time frame and charge was declined as not valid.

Lillian,

Click through to the actual article.

in typical american fashion she wanted to blow the windfall and be left with nothing.  she shouldve wanted to put it away.

It sounds like they authorized it, but wouldn’t pay it out (since the workers suggested the manager pay it out in 4 payments of $500).

Are these the things where they break your calculator or other things for no rational reason other they Microsoft Hates You?

I have no idea what’s going on here. The restaurant claims the tip wouldn’t go through cause the credit card company flagged it as fraud (not surprising). They tried to get the guy to come back and pay the tip a different way and he wouldn’t. Supposedly the customer tried to get the credit card company to authorize it

This isn’t about my feelings, I have no problem with Fieri nor have I eaten at any of his restaurants. And I know the impact he had on the places in DDD. I was addressing where I believe the “hate” or anti-Fieri sentiment that people have (or maybe had) came from. Read the NY Times review of Guy’s American Kitchen. It

Guy Fieri= nice guy. Also a really nice guy (who frequently gets destroyed on these sites)? Kevin James. When I lived in LA, whenever I’d get into a conversation with bartenders about famous people they served, his name always came up as one of the nicest guys they’ve ever met. Good tipper too.

Some peoples emotional investments in another are far deeper than just the physical intimacy of being with them. Leaving only makes sense if it’s part of a larger systemic problem in the relationship.

Take a stand, if possible on their inflated egotistical heads.
