Salovey told media that criminal actions undertaken by Meredith and Rick Singer, the scam’s mastermind, were “an affront to our community’s deeply self values of fairness, inclusion and honesty,” he said.

Now playing

They especially, you’d think, would sense this as a way to justice, given the ongoing list of “wrongs in equitable treatment” they have yet to remedy.

It’s no small coincidence that I’ve been preaching this for the better part of 15 years, and the very small handful of folks who’ve periodically gotten it have almost exclusively been in recovery.

Ironically, it’s very similar to drug addiction. There is indeed a cure. And it’s a lifelong commitment to fighting daily to undo the lie itself. It’s real similar to an addict committing to going regularly to those 12-step meetings to save their own self.

I don’t think I can salve it. I am aware that it is poison. I have wypipo personality disorder because I was raised in that society. There is no treatment. There is no way for a white person to be a “good one” and absolve ourselves from involvement in perpetuating this. I just have to live with it, which is the wages

Yep. This guy missed out on the point that, for us whites, racism is something we have to actively opt out of. Racism is the baseline.

The Clapback Mailbag is the best part of my internet life. The worst part of my internet life is having to read the on screen piffle that Michael responds to in order to truly enjoy his responses.

I try to no longer be shocked by any behavior. But truly these weekly impudent calls for Michael to engage with them (which Micheal does beautifully every week - today I teared up) is shocking to me. The thinly veiled provocations with the wringing of the hands and “why I never”, is exhausting. It’s just part and

This is so excellently written, Michael, as always.

I have to admit I’m a little terrified that a #notallwhitepeople hashtag has gained sentience and is writing e-mails now. If a #notallmen hashtag joins it we may all be doomed.

I don’t consider myself to be a racist and I rarely talk about race.

“I’ve never thought about race before.”

“I don’t consider myself to be a racist”

Timely, sure. Decisive?

that is actually complete bullshit and yes you can and people do it all the time. Do you...not think people get accounts banned for spreading violent hateful language or ideas? It is extremely common to do that.

Yes you can. Steam is a private service with a Terms of Use all users agree too. If you violate the Terms of Use you can totally be banned. Steam is not a Government, nor a public right, it is owned by Valve a private company and they can ban whomever they want.

Yes, you absolutely can. Steam/Valve has a code of conduct and violating it can mean losing access to the games you have purchased. When you buy a game you don’t own it, you are paying to use the license and it has been clear since the beginning of time that those licenses can be revoked at any time. Think of it like

So.  Good.  RTJ for life.

Yes, yes. Their only crime was doing crime with someone who crimes poorly.

Of course that’s their excuse, but there’s no way it holds up. The FBI brought receipts. The guy running the show might have been a shady motherfucker, but he was completely up front. All of the conversations were like “OK, so just to be clear now, I’m BRIBING PEOPLE TO GET YOUR KID INTO COLLEGE” and the parents were
