Why though? What is a practical use for AA/CarPlay in a Tesla that the Tesla doesn’t already have built in? There are exactly zero times where I’ve wished my phone could connect to my Model 3's screen.

100%. The average consumer wants everyone to know they have the latest greatest version at a quick glance, not by reading a spec sheet on Tesla’s website.
