I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again here. Understanding how compound interest works should be a (the only?) requirement to graduate from high school. The rest you can look up as needed or learn on the job.

I’m curious to see (assuming they got their man) how much planning went into this whole thing. It appears to be pretty extensive. I’m also assuming the overall plan included “getting away with it,” which is not always guaranteed.

Same. In Puerto Rico, I nearly got a refrigerator to the face when the pickup I was behind reached a steep hill. The fridge slid back, hit the tailgate, and briefly escaped the iron grip of gravity.  Fortunately, my refusal to be directly behind a truck carrying anything saved my bacon.
