Give Me Tacos or Give Me Death

A few years back, I picked up some bone-conduction headphones that let me actually hear stuff through my ears in addition to my music or whatever I may be listening to. They’re so much better for anyone who spends any amount of time on sidewalks because you can hear what’s going on around you.

I think you got kinja'd!

Yeah, you’re correct, of course. I wasn’t trying to get into the nitty gritty of relativity or mass-energy conversion (because I don’t understand it well enough to do so).

I really, honestly, and genuinely thought this was going to be about battery degradation.

All you need is a *bigger* one to scoop up the ones that autonomously crashed into things. Problem solved, yeah?

Three tons of “autonomous vehicle” has already proven itself plenty dangerous enough. Let’s not multiply the mass. The old adage e=1/2mv^2 is never not in play, after all.

Targeting the point mutation, specifically in muscle cells, specificity provided by tissue-specific promoter.

Whatever you gotta do to make it through, dude! Thanks for the laugh!

Oh, VERY MUCH SO.

They have a mutation (a3234g I think, not at my desk now) in the mitochondrial genome. We are trying to make a gene therapy for it. The gene is for a tRNA, and as best I, or anyone else, can tell, the mitochondria are basically unable to produce any encoded proteins that use that tRNA. So they don’t actually *do*

Actual question - I need to move mutant mitochondria (technically just the mtDNA, but I don’t know a way to do it without moving the whole thing) into a cell that can take up and express an AAV vector.

Figured as much. Guess there’s (currently) no way to manage the heat without the interstitial space between cylindrical cells?

I think that's exactly it.

If what you say is true, it could have *dire* implications for the universe as a whole. Because I see a LOT of Altimas driving *terribly* every single day.

I don’t see the Altima anywhere on those lists.

Don’t forget about Gravity.

Right? A cylinder leaves a lot of dead space. There’s certainly a better way to pack material into a space. Heck, I think the only worse way would be to make them more spherical.  However, there could be practical reasons that reducing dead space is a bad idea.

This. Aaron Rodgers has spent his life getting good at playing Quarterback, so it stands to reason he’s a reputable expert on the subject. But what is there about 20 years of throwing balls and being hit in the head that makes him an expert about vaccines?

I’m gonna need you to spell the man’s name correctly. It is Master Leigh Iowachewbaccaccocca, MD. And don’t you forget it.
