I mean, it sounds like North Korea really is doing exactly that. That’s got to be embarrassing, right? Money laundering through honest work? I can’t think of a crime more likely to get you made fun in prison than that.

If they’re literally sending their paychecks to the DPRK, they must have remained employed for a while, as getting fired immediately would send them back to square one. So it stands to reason that they actually did the work of a real employee.
