Thank you for this. I’ve been of the opinion that Ben Carson is an idiot savant since the moment that he walked onto the political stage. I’m not saying that Carson has a learning disability; I am saying that he is an idiot.

I’m imagining that, in maybe 70 or 80 more years, once we’re past this one way or the other, some head of government agency for a major world power will say “Look, we’re not ICE” in response to some atrocity his agency is committing and then Future Twitter can play this quote for him on repeat until he goes mad.

“Just following orders” wasn’t good enough for the Nuremberg Trials, it shouldn’t be good enough now.

“We’re not Nazis, we just knock on people’s doors at any hour we please and cart them away into camps.  We’re just following orders, but we’re totally not Nazis!”

Clearly if you have to clarify that your department is not Nazi adjacent, then you are aware that a lot of the public thinks that you are.
