You can do your job and not say that women all lie

If most women could  not be petty and jealous of each other for 5 minutes and come together as a gender, we could totally take over this world!

I’m not saying this was Melania’s case, but you don’t know the stories behind what makes women become “mail-order brides.” You don’t know their history, their material conditions, their desperation level, you don’t know a bunch of things. You also don’t mention the reason behind why some western men choose these

#neverforget

Same with Atlanta and the Bowling Green Massacre.

Dear United Airlines,

Thank you for giving us the gift of near infinite amounts of jokes, memes, and other sundry comedic offerings in this Modern Age’s darkest hour.

Making fun of you constantly,
Amanda.

“I also know there are many people who fly the flag in their yards or have a symbol on their truck and it’s not a racist symbol to them, it’s about their Southern heritage.”

I’ll say this in response: violence and terror based organizations don’t just *appear*. There’s always a root, and it usually takes a common form (poverty, humiliation, jealously, commiseration, community, anger, hate, murder).

It’s actually my birthday and I’ve been maintaining for a very long time that Earth Day has simply been co-opting my thunder.

So would it be worth it to organize and have people show up with #MargiSci signs? Signs that proclaim that Black Lives Matter, or signs with stats on women and minorities in STEM careers? Show up and co-opt the march, so to speak. It’s not like the organizers can police the signs.

Calling for the death of people if they’re distasteful is a pretty slippery slope. The line for distaste can shift rapidly and suddenly you’re on the wrong side of it. Think more than 5 minutes ahead.

Man, who do you think ISIS recruits? Just because they’re shitty people doesn’t mean they’re not “marginalized.”

I’m not a person that is going to hold up a “Kill” anything sign. That’s not a message I want to normalize for the 4th grader in my life.

I haven’t looked at their website in a while, but my sense is that it’s to emphasize the value of supporting science rather than something characterized as a protest. I don’t think even this article disputes that this is an important takeaway, despite being a hypocritical one. And even if for optics, those optics do

‘What’s the point?’ I can think of a few.
