Yep. I have a security clearance and an ex housemate has an even higher clearance, and its a pain in the butt! The level of invasion and detail is insane, and part of the built in process to assess people, so yeah - if they avoided information, it was because they were told to.

Which in any other government position, should surely be such an enormous red flag that they couldn’t possibly receive a security clearance or be employed...
