We don’t have the luxury of that kind of set up, except for leadership who...have the security of their own offices.

Tbf some of us aren’t being given a choice. I was told to be back in the office or it would become a disciplinary issues, which okay cool not a global pandemic right right right. We can’t work from home (if you’re SICK THEN YOU’RE SICK AND CAN’T WORK OR ELSE GET INTO THE OFFICE YOU LAZY - ) and people have maxed out

This has made me heartbroken and sad and angry for friends in the US. They’re all doing the “right thing” but are being forced more and more into stricter lockdown because no one else seems to be. The impacts of that lockdown are going to get more and more pronounced on their mental and physical health the longer this

Yeah, the denial of her parole is 100% a political decision, and has nothing to do with criminal justice.

Yeah, watching friends and family and knowing something is probably about to crash on them is...unpleasant.

We definitely love to complain about it, but yeah, Australians generally have a strong sense of community and are confident in telling people to pull their finger (and that we won’t get shot for speaking up...).

Fair enough I guess.

I mean, the public service is usually the target and scapegoat for governments, when its actually just people dedicated to service doing their best with shrinking budgets and poor resources and little respect...

There’s stuff that’s now public knowledge that I might now discuss with people who were tangentially involved, but definitely not to people more broadly.

There is so much stuff that you just can’t share! Stuff that creates panic and frantic overtime at work that the public never ever hears about, and then you go home and get asked “you ok?!” and you can only really say “...it’ll be fine”.

I mean like there are a lot of Commonwealth countries. What I don’t get is why Americans are so obsessed.

Yeah, as an Australian/UK duel citizen, I am absolutely sick of Americans telling me Australia should throw off the ‘yoke’ of the Commonwealth. The Royal family have no, none, zero political influence - they operate purely as a head of state upon which the foundation of our laws rest, and are figureheads without any

Yeah I definitely experimented more with lipstick for online work, trying things I wouldn’t do if we were face to face :P

Weirdly enough I think I bought more make up than usual, and skin care seems to have increased, at least some brands are reporting? I definitely bought some nicer eyeliner :P

I could see there being a fair and valid argument in waiting for the EC vote, as the basis for the final legal confirmation of the results of the election (in fact, the gap between finalised results and EC vote is staggeringly long!), tbf, but she clearly wasn’t and was pretty obviously obeying Trump vs having any

Maybe there’s ghosts in your blood!

He’s the same age as my partner, who looks about 10 years younger than him! Amazing how evil ages you.

Well yeah I’d 100% have to make it myself haha

Yeah I have never even considered returning a food item that I bought - even when I’ve picked up the wrong thing, that’s my error and either I can work out what to do with it, or give it away to someone who can make better use of it!

I’ve never had the opportunity to try ambrosia (or “jello salad”), since I don’t really want to make it just for myself and no one wants to embark on the journey with me! Maybe next year I’ll convince some friends to do a USAian themed dinner and I’ll make some!
