^ This. Sheesh.

How did he resist the urge to wipe his hand on his pants afterwards?

I agree. With a laser sighting no less?? Who the hell needs a laser sighting on a BB gun??

You really don’t know how dairy production works, huh?

And obviously cow’s milk does something for us or the lactose intolerant in Europe and some other areas wouldn’t have died in massive numbers.

I was an Animal Science Major in my undergraduate years. I definitely know the difference between a concentrated feedlot and sustenance farming a la Joel Salatin, who has really pioneered the idea of grass farming vs cattle farming.

He sounds really, really tired. I honestly think he has no idea where he is.

Where does what source? I don’t think I posted anything with milk listed.

Exactly. that’s what I was saying.

Yep- exactly! We are always on the same page. :-)

They only produce milk if kept in a constant state of lactation, which is not normal and requires a host of hormonal interference.

The point of the diagram is food sources. Almonds certainly can replace meat - they contain protein, fats, vitamin E, magnesium, B2, and a host of other phytonutrients. Plus, unlike meat, the fats they contain are monounsaturated.

Interesting. I didn’t realize that garbled speech was a side effect of arteriosclerosis.

Agreed. Cow milk is far more environmentally damaging for a whole host of reasons, in addition to the water use. Antibiotics, hormones, methane production - there is very little that is good about dairy production.

There are plenty of plant-based foods that are high in protein, plus they have the added benefit of being low in sugar as well as added hormones. The protein in dairy comes with a hefty side of both, and it’s calorically dense to boot.

Right- not to mention the amount of methane that cattle release into the atmosphere - it might actually be the most environmentally damaging part of all.

Water used in almond production: 377 gallons per pound. Suddenly, almonds don’t look so bad.

My money’s on arterial/coronary disease.

It’s too bad the almonds are so water intensive.

Dairy milk provides very little nutritional benefit, especially considering the amount of sugar in it (and yes, sugar is added to dairy milk, it’s just not labeled).
