Honestly it doesn't have that much work done. Basically bolt-ons, a tune, 150 shot, and slicks.... very impressive!

None of those things are very probable. Tesla is invested heavily into this factory, especially with all of the wind farms and solar panels. The likelihood of them picking up and leaving is.... not high, to say the least. Tesla going under, while more feasible, isn't very likely either. I'd see this factory operating…
No doubt, I currently own a brand new car. I guess my problem is that this thing is $40k and it stemmed from a $20k golf. I'd rather get a very lightly used performance luxury car with a warranty.
I'm an idiot, for some reason I thought this was a Jetta Sportwagon when i read the article, not a golf wagon. It's still really cool, but not at that much money... I'd rather buy a used CTS-V wagon or something like that.
Why did Cadillac decide on using the Turbo 6 instead of the LT1 which makes very similar numbers?
Agree to disagree, I suppose.
have they sold many of those things?
At $40k it just doesn't pencil out, that's just too much money for a damn Jetta.
You've got a point there for sure. It also seems like cars are getting so expensive anymore that it's hard to keep up. I still feel like $20k is a lot of money for a damn car and that will hardly get you into a crap Corolla anymore.
The Aztec is an outlier, even on the bell curve of ugliness. To my eye the Daytona looks like a blah generic 70s car. There's nothing even particularly interesting about it, which is worse when you consider that its a car which usually commands 7 figures at auction.
I know my opinion is unpopular, but I think the Daytona is ugly.
I've heard that these engines are nightmarishly expensive to maintain. Does Carmax have any in stock??
I'm 6' and 190lbs. If there was another dude in the passenger seat (which is very likely if you drive a Fiat) the same size we would be damn near touching shoulders. I am also not a viking.
Looks pretty sharp, but after sitting in a 500 there's no way I could buy a Fiat. Materials were pretty terrible and the car was very narrow, I'd rather spend the extra money to get a Mini.
Well, the RC-F was an example that I was going to provide for cars that don't really compete in the segment. I don't doubt that the LT1 would be able to hang, but it wouldn't be able to in terms of fuel economy and aftermarket upgrades. That's not to say the V8 won't get massive aftermarket support, because it will,…
That'd be cool, but I think this segment is so competitive that you almost have to go with forced induction if you want to hang with the big boys.
Even after all these years that is still a damn good looking car.
The application is not the same at all, the entire weight of the door is put on the roof of the vehicle. The fact that you think it's such a simple task is pretty damn funny. "Oh just slap a gullwing door on it, no biggie"
It would be awful if it was FWD, especially with all the torque you get in a Tesla. That thing would roast it's tires constantly.
