So anyone who owns a house there is “rich”? I feel like you have an excessively loose definition of the word, because there’s a lot of people in expensive areas who are barely making mortgage payments. Only in kinja could someone be living paycheck to paycheck and a commenter acts like they’re shitting on gold toilets.

Thank you. This site is a weird combination of car enthusiast and anti-capitalist at the same time, but the notion that a $1.5M California home makes them “elite” is just stupid.

Very fitting for a Scat Pack.

Love this so much, thank you. Kinja is filled with socialist warriors who want less corporate profits, but at the same time are camping out at Walmart on Black Friday for a great deal on ______ piece of junk.

Ok, I love your post. “Live with less crap” is actually a somewhat reasonable answer to this problem, something most others are unwilling to say. We consume way too much junk, which only feeds the beast. This is also something that the general population CAN control, unlike executive pay or corporate profits.

Right, you can do that. The stock prices will drop, which will negatively affect the 401k’s of many average Joes in the world too. I’m not sure why so many people here seem to think there’s a simple solution that will have no adverse side effects.

Oh, absolutely I agree. Executive compensation is out of control and is not commensurate with the value they bring, in most cases. Add it to the list of “things that won’t change in my lifetime, but are upsetting”.

I’m not “shilling for the man”, just providing a realistic outcome of what so many of you demand. Go ahead and be upset about it, but this is how the world works. Companies are not going to just allow their profits to shrink for the good of humanity, which is sad but true.

Yep, unfortunate but true. This is exactly why I focus on increasing my income rather than stew in frustration at something that isn’t going to change.

Okay, good luck to you.

Yeah, there’s a whole bunch of replies that are similar to yours. I understand the frustration, but corporations will always be working to maximize their profits. You and others can complain about this all you want, though the fact of the matter is that situation will not change in our lifetime. If you want to make

I’m sure waiter at Applebee’s appreciates your rants.

Paying them more is fine, but be prepared to also pay more for your goods/services on the other side of the equation. You can’t have it both ways.

Well said and I agree with all of your subsequent posts. The idea that wealthy people are all evil and none of them earned a cent is hilarious and stupid. I’d also bet you that the vast majority of “eat the rich” people would change their tune quickly if they suddenly had a seven-figure bank account balance. Generally

I agree for the most part with your post. Unions are important and there needs to be reasonable profit sharing with workers, especially now with inflation and demand being so high. With that being said, I think it should be treated more as a variable benefit rather than a fixed pay increase. John Deere is doing

It must be a depressing life making blanket assumptions about people based on the car they drive. Not every EV owner cares about saving the planet. Truck owners aren’t constantly beating their wives. Every kid in a WRX doesn’t vape.

Okay, so I’m wrong about your political alignment. Let’s make this clear though, YOU prefer cars that are x/y/z, but for the vast majority of drivers an electric vehicle actually has many tangible benefits over a gasoline alternative. Seriously, I do not understand why you’re going to die on this hill. lol. This was

It’s been proven that over time an EV is better for the environment than continuing the fix/use gasoline vehicles... but disregarding that, you are still wrong that there are no tangible benefits to EVs. Ignoring the environmental stuff, which appears to be your entire argument, electric cars are actually very nice to

Why do you always have to be such a damn bummer, Greta?
