It’s almost like selling a car on the fact that it drives itself attracts people who are terrible drivers.

It’s a neat truck that has survived this long. But at $6k it is too much.

As much as I love a good mini-truck, this one just seems sad. It’s got a dorky GT package that hasn’t aged well, a bad paint job, dated brown interior, at least 133K miles, etc. If it was pristine and original it might be worth the price as a minor collectable, but this is neither show car or work vehicle. It’s just

That is not my taste at all. It’s for a Trailer Park Boy who can’t afford a Corvette. ND

The Trans Am fender vents is the turd on top of this pile of shit. ND.

Raised RAM pickups with blackouts and Punisher decals are numerous and deadly around here.

during the winter months in the regions where snow falls, I find Tesla cars never clear the snow of their cars, or their lights... its as if they thought they can push a button or something and the snow will magically be removed...

I don’t think Subaru drivers are distracted by the dogs in the cars.

It’s a percentage of the particular make, normalizing the denominator. So for every 1000 Pontiac drivers, 3.11 have gotten a DUI. For every 1000 BMW drivers, 2.57 have gotten a DUI. etc.  It’s not the raw number of DUIs (I imagine that would correlate strongly to the number of vehicles on the road).

Don’t discount the used market.  I have this feeling that used Model 3's are going to be the replacement for the vaunted Altima.  I’m seeing a lot of that around here.  Dirty, panels falling off, paper plated Model 3's.

it’s even worse than that. Toyota’s core customer is people that buy a car like it’s an appliance. They don’t care about the driving experience as long as it’s reliable.
The people buying Teslas are looking to buy a status symbol, like it’s a purse or a new cell phone.. It’s the same group of entitled mid-level manager

I’ve never actually had an issue with RAM drivers in the Area, but my lord Tesla drivers are horrid. To the point where I had to reassess myself to wonder if I was the problem, it was quite confusing.

parts and know-how may be limited compared to other models

I have the “poor mans” version of the same year - 2006 4Runner Limited. Same engine, same platform... same car, really, just without the Lexus badge. I’d pay $16K just for the Toyota without all the Lexus panache... because the damn car is THAT good.

This platform is reliable as hell, parts aren’t overly expensive

How is that considered bad to you? These had a recall for the dash (which is now closed), so having that done is a good thing. Also the windshield isn’t anything odd at all, windshields chip over time and any car with 170k will certainly not have the original windshield.

The two replacements together really dont concern me. I’ve replaced dashboards and having the windscreen out during the dash work makes the overall job a fair bit easier.

I work at a Lexus dealership. My job is to work with customers in the service lane who want to sell or trade-in their aging Lexus. I’ve seen these, regularly, with over 300k miles and still running like new. We took one in on trade once with 350k miles, it was in good enough condition that we could put it on the used

I owned a 2005 GX. All these GXs had dash-cracking issues that Lexus ended up issuing a recall for, so having the dash replaced is actually a positive as the recall is currently closed. I also had to replace my driver’s seat leather due to a small tear in the bolster.

These are notorious for having cracked dash’s.
