It isn’t really that bad. If you have thin skin and can’t take people yelling at you, then sure. And if you get yelled at and then escalate, sure. But overall, it is par for the course in any sports stadium for the most part. I have seen shitty fan behavior at pretty much any stadium that I have been to. Some are more

The fact that they exposed KC for the frauds they were all season, I’ll allow it.

I’d probably go, but I wouldn’t go wearing the away team’s symbol/color. Honestly, any pro sports game can result in some level of altercation because there are drunken fans at all of them, but the Phili sports fan is basically the Florida Man of the Northeast.

I was on Broad Street when the Phillies won, and it was, as a friend described it, “New Years Eve meets the Tet offensive.”

Oh it absolutely does. Getting a skydiving license runs a couple grand, and the gear is a couple more. I consider it a $10k sport by the time you get set up and comfortable, but it’s (currently) $28 for a jump after that. Though I guess you need to get licensed and learn to ride a motorcycle too, and you need gear and

Congrats Bradders, you’ve finally tempted me with an electric vehicle.

1. This is a transportation site, not a car site.

2. Please learn the difference between speed and acceleration.

He reached maximum speed waaaay up at like 98,000ft. 50% of the earth’s atmosphere is below 18,000ft. Baumgartner slowed down as the atmosphere got denser when he came down.

When people talk about terminal velocity of a falling person, it’s generally in reference to a distance much closer to the surface, well inside

Speed, not acceleration.

Buzzkill.

^ This, of couse, is the correct answer.

Lots of good recs here, but surprised by one I haven’t seen: A clapped out C5 Vette with idk, 5 grand worth of go-fast bits on it? The motor will take plenty of boost, and that shape wants to go fast.

While not part of the thought experiment explicitly, I think it’s worth mentioning that the sensation of speed (and danger) can be far more exhilarating than smooth high speed travel. Comparing how it felt to go 155 mph on a motorcycle designed for it on perfect tarmac versus how it felt running an ‘83 Tercel, held

Late 90s SL600 can take you to 200 for under 10k. I got mine for $8000 and once I put a nice set of tires on it it’s ready to go

If you want to go really fast for really cheap... you need a used Bentley. Specs say it’d go basically 200 MPH back when it was new.

Dude. Haven’t you ever hit the Hertz counter?

I suggested a $38 plane ticket as the answer here and was called a buzzkill. If it has to be terrestrial speed, a Shinkansen ticket. If it has to be under your own control, then it’s gotta be the Busa

Most AMGs are limited to 155mph, but I think once you remove the limiter, they can be 200mph cars naturally all day. I think another 10K added to this one with just suspension, tires, light engine modifications and a retune will probably net you 220mph...I have no proof of this concept, but someone richer than me

I’m sorry if this is how you’re finding out that you, the consumer, end up paying the extra cost of a tariff. I wish you had known before the election.
