It’s certainly not the new EV I’d buy, and even more certainly not the used EV I’d buy. But to have it for 2 years on a wicked cheap lease? Hell yeah.

My wife’s 2012 is going strong at 200k, and her dad’s ‘11 is at 220k and starting to feel the effects of NY roads. Not a cent into either except for regular wear items. The tC falling short of the Celica in performance may be a disappointment, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t fill the same role of sporty FWD liftback. It was heavier - every car got heavier. The 1ZZ Celica was quick enough to be fun, but hardly the firecracker the 2ZZ was. 

When the FRS came out it was still a Scion, so I guess it needed a weird Scion-y name. At that point, the tC was still around as well, and really the tC was the successor to the Celica all along.
