I outfit my van myself, a bit less extensively and more shoddily (but not bad for a first attempt) and I like the simplicity and apparent durability of this. They take full advantage of the flat walls and it seems pretty easily customizable to move things around. No one appreciates how much labor goes into building a

NP because while I’d rather have a 2nd gen xB (i had a teal one with a stick for about 6 months and loved it), decent examples of those are more pricey.

For the most part, yes. It’s pretty insane to me that we’re pushing so hard to have 100% of new vehicles sold as EVs in 10 years but not that any % needs to be hybrids (which could 100% be accomplished in 3 years without most automakers breaking a sweat (well, probably except Stallantis, they might be fucked) because

Maybe it’s the James May in me, but I’ve always wanted a Fiat Panda 4x4. While in Italy last year, I saw how cheap decent older examples of those could be (while obviously commanding a premium over a standard Panda).

Exactly. I would love a self driving car, and I’m willing to pay signicifantly more for one. But it’s gotta be, you know, self driving.

There’s quite a bit different between this car and my ‘86 560SEL, and a lot of it makes this car easier to deal with (most notably the lack of self-leveling suspension). But there’s enough in common for me to be just as concerned about a low mileage example as a high mileage one.

I’m going to have to disagree with you there.

Last time I looked, they only had 2 gas mowers on sale at all. A cheap Yard-Machine (or something like that) which was still $300 and a $550 Honda. And then a dozen+ battery models. The gas chainsaws, blowers, and string trimmers were all moved to the clearance end cap.

The older folks that tend to own a car like this also tend to be light on details when writing ads (but who knows, maybe they aren’t old and just suck at it). But I want a fat stack of service records going with this car at that price.

I like Sahlen’s hotdogs, but I believe the law states that they must be served alongside Zweigles in Monroe County.

I’m right in Rochester, born and raised

I’ve spent most of my life in western NY and dealt with the snow and ice for a long time. But we’ve been getting fewer dustings, fewer flurries, and fewer big storms. I figure in 10 years it’ll stop snowing almost entirely, and we’ll be up here enjoying the temperate weather and access to fresh water as the west coast

I went from a set of General Altimax (very well reviewed for the money) snow tires on my FRS to some Firestone Winterforce 2 because they were on sale from Tire Rack when the Generals needed replacing. I’d say the brand new Firestones were a minimal step up from the worn out Generals.

I think the 2 problems I have with the Crosstrek are:

FWIW, that’s not what the front of the current Ram Promaster looks like. Not saying it’s a huge improvement, but this is the one for sale today:

Ignoring the not-particularly-great photos, poor description of this car, and lack of the giant binder or maintenance history I would expect from a car like this....

They did mention it in a couple of other episodes as “the corner where Michael Gambon almost rolled it”. But I’ve watched millions of Top Gear reruns, and I’ve never actually seen this episode either. I’m not sure if they don’t air it for a reason, or just because the first season of this generation (pre James May)

And by rich, I mean old-money-not-scared-to-grease-politician’s-palms rich.

But the NIMBYs want nuclear as much as they want wind turbines and won’t hear anything about it being safer than ever. More nuclear power almost certainly needs to be part of the solution to compensate for the fluctuations in power from wind and solar (and hydro as fresh water is running out).

I do agree that it’s an issue with a lot of small trucks. I remember noting it when I saw the last Tacoma facelift and how the center of the truck (which carried over the smooth lines) looked odd against the squareness of the new front end.  Maybe the Colorado stands out to me because it carries over elements from the
