This is just Big Beet trying to stay relevant in the mainstream. But we know it’s an industry that’s riddled with nepotism and shady practices.

Engine covers tend to be primarily for NVH, but making it not butt-ugly of course doesn’t hurt. They may have made one for the Pentastar that would fit in a while bunch of applications to cut costs. My promaster didn’t have one, though, and that monstrosity up there wouldn’t have come close to fitting under the

The draw of the Equinox is that it’ll have optional AWD. The con, though, is that it’s an Equinox. We’ll see how it resembles the current Equinox, since it’s on a different platform, but I like that the inside of the Bolt doesn’t remind of of Chevy’s small SUVs.

I’m completely on board with your odds there. I’m not sure how close they are, but they seem in the ballpark. All I’m saying is that the logic behind it “being the worst luxury car you can buy” is flawed. A brand new S class is 100% depreciating. An 8 year old S-class might break. And yeah, it’s probably a much higher

If it’s still under warranty, it’s still gonna be expensive. Go a couple years older and a lot lot lot cheaper. Maybe something will break, maybe not. Maybe it’ll be something important, maybe not. Roll the dice.

Counterpoint, a used S-Class is the best luxury car you can buy.

Yeah, I guess I meant more along the lines of “someone tried that and it didn’t really work out, but you could go get one if you wanted”

Jimny Evo? Pump it up to 200 hp?

My sister has had much better luck with the Pacifica than they had with the previous Grand Caravan and T&C. It seems much better built from the get-go, so I think that’s a factor. I understand the appeal of a lightly used Chrysler van when an equivalent Odyssey is 50% more expensive, but it seems like the price

That’s just a Nissan Pulsar, my dude

I imagine a big part of that is it trying to roast the tires and limiting acceleration. It’s heavy, but with the instant torque and no shifting it should be good for, idk, something in the 8s?

AWD and stow-and-go was already an issue that plagued gas mini-vans. You lost the folding seats in the AWD Sienna, which was a big knock against it for take rate. Now you’re using that space that had the drivetrain to house batteries. So your only option is to raise the floor, basically.

Seriously. Van racing without having to service an engine through the doghouse? I’m in.

I guess the question we’re answering is how much of this one you’ll be seeing. At it seems like most people think “a lot”, of the outside at least, when it’s sitting dead in the driveway outside your kitchen window.

If it test drove nicely and there was some history of the major maintenance, I could see it going for $4k. But no matter what it’s a time bomb, and $6k is too expensive for a parts car.

People like to joke about the signs for a falling rock zone. Like, what am I supposed to do with that information? Well , I guess the answer is “don’t park your car right against the hill”

Did he stop to see his reflection in the snow-covered hills? ‘Til the landslide brought him down?

The next newer generation has a claimed dry weight of 794lbs, so indeed heavier

One this age might actually be a little lighter than a newer one? Not sure it handles its weight as well though.
