Solid theories, but I think a lot of them are just plain assholes (I guess that may be the small penis theory).

I imagine the smarter controls that allow for preheating on a lot of these cars is a big help, but also probably makes the process of heading to work on a winter morning more enjoyable. 

Here in Western NY it’s the snow that gets ya, not so much the cold. With a few exceptions, 20-40 degrees is most of our winter.

I think it essentially means that they will allow a big boost in power to the electric motor for short periods of time, any then the motors/wires/controllers/etc need to cool down.

Because tow companies in general seem to get some sort of benefit of the doubt on their shitty practices. I assume because they often work in collaboration with the police.

I agree that there are concerns about the interior volume and ingress, so we’ll need to wait and see how that shakes out.

While I never listen to AM (I think I may have tried once or twice when the highway signs said “tune to 1480 for traffic” sort of things and never got anywhere with it) my understanding is that there are large swaths of the country where folks can get AM reception but not FM. I’m picturing the little corner-lot used car dealers scattered around town that I’ve dealt with. Often, they are a great place to find deals on older cars that the average consumer isn’t interested in, especially older German cars.
