as a coke drinker (alas very occasionally) this makes me smug.

same. She is a great actor with a few truly phenomenal performances. Her small but impactful role in Brokeback Mountain, e.g.

mmm, yes, of course, lanyards! Blue blazer on the left camouflages it well.

totally fair. I just think it’s relevant that the infraction would be a million times worse had Clinton *asked* for advance questions and also received them.

nah, the guy behind her just has a thick border to his v-neck, methinks.

the hypocrisy is strong with that one.

Also I don’t know of any evidence that she solicited the debate questions. The blame goes to an unscrupulous debate representative, not her. I’m happy to hear corrections if I’m off base here, though.

Research indicates (apparently) that there is no correlation between acne and fash-washing. If you’re gonna have acne, you’ll have it regardless of whether or not you wash your face and vice versa. I still wash my face at night to scrub off all my makeup, but I stopped washing it in the mornings about 10 years ago.

I only wash my legs if I’m at the beach/pool and have sunscreen on my legs. Otherwise they feel oily/covered in residue.

What the hell is wrong with you? Jesus no one needs to scrub their areas twice. That’s just asking for microfissures and chapping and you guessed it, increased risk for infection. There is a sweet spot of washing your skin... too little and there’s bacteria, too much and your skin is dry and cracked and harbors even

A bizarre fact of human psychology is change aversion. People would rather keep doing a bad thing than decide to change, even if *any* change would improve their lives. It’s pretty nuts. Colloquially it’s “better the devil you know than the devil you don’t” even if the “devil you don’t [know]” is not, in fact, a

I can’t say for sure, but I think saying Pres. Clinton “gave” Hillary the lead on healthcare is somewhat misleading. First Ladies traditionally (since Eleanor Roosevelt) pick a “pet cause” (a term I hate, but whatevs) to pursue in their capacity as First Lady. See other commenters re: Michelle Obama and childhood

my fave: “THE BAAHBLE”

this is excellent. I could hear the drawl in my head. You have a gift.

This is very true, but in the coal belt, it’s the only game in town for a lot of folks. It’s not that out of work coal miners *want* to spend their days in a dangerous and unpleasant job, it’s that it’s their only option (or it feels that way). Trump is sacrificing the earth for a handful of people who are un-(or

I, like many women I think, cried off and on fairly uncontrollably for about a week or two after election day. I felt a pain that I struggled to put into words. Every time I see one of these memes I feel another shot to my heart. And yet simultaneously a strange sense of satisfaction, something like vindication? I

I think my fear comes from an irrational paranoia that my voice isn’t as good as I think it is. Even though I know that’s crazy, I’ve taken voice lessons, been cast in musicals, etc. And my husband isn’t as ready to shower me with praise as I’d like (I actually command him occasionally “SHOWER ME WITH PRAISE” and he

The middle name as actual name thing is less weird to me than we’re going to name you one thing, and call you a similar but different name instead. Like, you wouldn’t name a kid Pietro and then call him Pierre instead. Or name a girl Katherine but call her Kathleen. Why not just call him Antonio? It’s a perfectly

Barbra Streisand too apparently had awful stage fright. I have a pretty good voice, but no one knows it except for my husband b/c I refuse to sing in front of others. I’ve only done karaoke once. It freaks me out for no good reason. I did sing at a friend’s wedding, but it was a trio, I never could have done a

In my experience, that is super common on the competitive dance circuit. It’s all about how many quad pirouettes and switch leaps you can crank out and not at all about actual technique/form. I’ve never watched Dance Moms, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if she came from the competitive dance world.
