When Daly is eventually found (2+ weeks later because everyone at work is off for 2 weeks, and no one is going to notice he’s gone until his absence at work is noticed), why would anyone suspect murder?  They’ll find him dead in his home hooked up to the game.  They’ll just think he had an aneurysm or something.

I guess you missed the part where the human being imprisoned and repeatedly tortured these computer programs.

No one’s going to find Day’s body for 2 weeks - it’s the start of Christmas break at his office, and no one is going to notice he’s missing until everyone gets back to work and he’s not there.

Your scenario assumes that Daly’s death will be treated as a murder and investigated to find the killer. We see nothing in the episode to support this.

One of the benefits of an anthology show on a streaming service is that you can make each episode different lengths - they don’t all have to be the same length to fit some network timeslot, meaning you don’t have to stretch some episodes out to fit a longer runtime, and you don’t have to cut other episodes short to…

Marsden was playing himself, not a normal person who happened to look like James Marsden.  It was deliberate choice to have a real actor appear as himself on the show.
