This is not good news for the brand considering by most accounts the engine is the only good part of those cars.

Not everyone has the free cash to drop $20k (what I’d guess this went for previously) at the time of purchase. Doesn’t make them a deadbeat owner. The quality photos and actual attempt at cleaning the car before taking them is more effort than 90% would make, so I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt here.

I see way too much Rolls Royce Cullinan in this, especially that side profile:

Well, yeah. Tesla Fanbois seem to think that electricity comes from the air or something. Elon’s got them convinced that there is no impact from their EVs.

It’s bad, judgmental writing.  Jalopnik has gone downhill.  Does Jalop characterize racing as events for rich douchebags?  They can do better, but choose not to.

Yes, that’s part of why Burning Man was kicked off the Playa after the total destruction of 1996. Burn scars everywhere.

The subtext of Burning Man has never been “leave no trace.” It has always been “Who gives a fuck about this place, I wanna do fun shit in the desert.”

On the list of things Burning Man is about, environmental causes don’t even crack the top 10. This is because the top 10 things are all drugs, Instagram clout, sex, different drugs, and the various combination and permutations thereof.

We love to take our 700+ horsepower $100k trucks to festivals about self-reliance and being kind to our earth mother or some such, don’t we folks.

That RV is fucked. Shitty aluminum frame, stapled together interior panels, press-fit water lines... The modern RV industry builds shit that barely lasts 10 years when the units are treated well. This just bent or broke a bunch of stuff.

I irrationally dig it. The best-looking body style, a great 70s color. ND.

Looks like the side has been redone a bit. Unless you are looking at both of them you would no see it.

In related news, Ford dealers nationwide announced that their “Dealer Market Adjustment” just went up approximately $3,000.

Q: “Can I have a display in front of me as the driver?”

oooh, and the fiero can still have issues catching fire. BUT this time with LITHIUM!!!

My thoughts exactly. Electrify the Toaster.

I realize how not-aerodynamic it is, but the Honda Element would be a nice addition to the EV landscape. A small, yet extremely practical hauler that’s ready for adventure would be a hot seller, I think. As long as it’s not outrageously priced... which it probably would be.

Not a bad business model. Create the first properly small truck in a decade and price it super competitively. Realize that even your anticipated demand is an underestimation, build a buzz. Raise the price to a point where it actually makes sense to build. Profit.

OK, I’ll play along:

None. Let EV cars build their own identities, let them be this shiny new chapter of automotive technology on their own terms without having to look backwards at old identities. I’m no fan of electric car fans, as everyone knows, but let them have their own things. Let them build their own legacies. Let them be the
