For those who might be interested, this weekend is Fall Crandon which is probably the premiere Short Course Off-Road event of the season. Good mix of drivers from out west and the midwest. Should be some solid racing going down. They typically have a live stream of the events at http://torcseries.com/

I think that Yota is just yard art because it doesn’t move and I’m pretty sure there’s no drivetrain. I never asked but I’m pretty sure the frame underneath that is the cut out cradle of an old Patrick Enterprises monster truck chassis that got retired from. My friend Cole Venard who up until March was one of the

I mean there’s some lifted trucks locally, but a fair amount of them you see here are tourists. I’m in the monster truck industry myself so I know the guys that work out of Digger’s Dungeon have some old lifted square bodies around. You’d be surprised though that a lot of those guys like weird little obscure rides

Uhhhhh, no. I live on the Outer Banks and don’t even know anyone with a Miata. Definitely know a few dudes with lifted truck though but they’re certainly not that prevalent. Trucks like these are all over Florida though.

I resisted for a while thinking it wasn’t worth it. Then I got stuck waiting in line at security for close to an hour and a half for a 6:00am flight out of Nashville last summer. Since then, the only place I had to wait in any kind of significant line was Boston, but the security set up there is pretty crappy or at

Classic case of more money than sense, but I’m with you. No point in investing all that they’ve got into that truck and not use it in some way. I’d probably stick to more conventional jumps myself though.

The backflip isn’t all that impressive especially considering I saw this a month ago.

The mitten loves monster trucks haha. I’ve been a somewhat regular visitor in working events up there. Unfortunately I think this year I’m down to just one visit as my schedule doesn’t line up with the other Throwdown events this year.

Unfortunately the Mount Pleasant event isn’t happening this year but maybe it will return in the future. It was a spectacular event though that really got a lot of attention in the industry. If you’ve got a free hour and are curious to see what it’s like this was the 2015 event.

For what it’s worth, the Toughest Monster Truck Tour does a lot with a little like that building in Saginaw. Monster Jam still does Ford Field twice a year in Detroit which is pretty comparable in floor space to the Silverdome. There’s some other independent promoters that do outdoor events in the state as well.

Ryan and his brother Adam are two of the quickest thinking drivers in monster trucks. They both posses an uncanny ability to improvise on the fly and do some completely ridiculous things. They’re also two of the most creative guys on the circuit. Ryan may not have planned to do a moonwalk right there, but you can be

I wonder what my maritime lawyer would have to say about this...

There will certainly be a Grave Digger there, just don’t know who will be piloting it at this point. Nothing has been stated as far as driver changes, muchless what Dennis’ recover time might be looking like. Should still be a great show though. There’s a lot of great trucks on that touring group.

It’s okay. I’m probably one of the only users here who has a USHRA rule book.

Drivers compartment on shocks would be a horrific idea. There’s a reason why suspension seats aren’t used, they get out of sync with the suspension of the truck and actually compound issues significantly. They use containment seats like those in NASCAR to restrict movement because movement is what results in injuries.

There are many Grave Digger’s actively touring. I think it’s up to 8 or 9 now. Check out the information on the show you’re attending here

There is no maximum weight limit and the minimum is actually 9,000. No truck is near that these days though.

I know this is way late but I rarely log in. It’s not just the visual that has gone down hill, the quality of parts being used is down as well. Last time I saw the truck it didn’t even run.

Saddens me to see the shape the old King Sling is in. Every time I see newer pictures of it that truck looks worse and worse. Dennis may have beaten the absolute hell out of that truck but aside from the body it never looked rough.

I randomly met one of Diamond P Motorsports camera guys while I was working the Minneapolis Monster Jam last month. He had one of the shirts on and I had to compliment him on it. I grew up on Trucks and Tractor Power.
