1. Money. A lot of them think they’re going to get a big raise and they probably are. Bush gave a 10% raise in his first year while Obama has only been making cost of living adjustments. Yes I know most of us don’t even get cost of living adjustments

Yep, same. I actually met the guy in high school. He stopped by (Salem High School in NH) for a campaign speech, and we were suiting up for an afternoon matinee of “The Devil and Daniel Webster.” I was the Devil, and went to see him, in character, to give him tickets to the show. He muttered “Well, let’s pay for it,”

McCain has been in the doghouse with me for a damned long time. He has flashes of integrity when it is politically expedient for him to do so, no more, no less.

So, you may be correct in saying that a lot of white ppl will miss the point Bc it’s not their experience and they won’t relate to it. I think what is missing from that is that I think that there will also be a lot of white people who will maybe start waking up when they start being shown that the seamless vaneer of

I went and saw it yesterday and six people got up and walked out about 75% of the way through. I really want to know what movie they thought they were going to see.

We have 5 living past presidents and we can be reasonably certain not a single one voted for our current president.

My 82 year old Mexican American mother saw this on Friday. She loved it and cannot stop talking about it! She called me as soon as she got home telling me to get up and make a midnight show. Saturday morning, “When are you going to go?!” Sunday same thing. She wants to talk about it something fierce.

This movie is perfect. I saw it in a theater of mostly white people (I am white) and as I was leaving, a white woman behind me opined “I get the commentary, but what is he offering up as a solution?”

Such an amazing film. I got to see it a week early and it’s been hard to keep all my thoughts to myself.

There was no church scene. There were no tambourines or drums, no preachers loudly proclaiming Leviticus 20:13,

This administration could fuck up a two-car funeral.

Is her book the WW version of If I Did It

“It’s not a choice.” Pfft, cultural appropriation and blackface is always a choice, Rachel.
