I know this is pretty damn late, but here's a thanks for your measured and well-written response.

I find it odd that the Jez writers rarely, if ever, respond to criticism. Would it be that hard to chime in and say "Well, this is why I think the lies are significant..." or "You may have a point..."?

That was my guess.

So what are your thoughts on the specifics of this controversy? You criticize the analysis without offering anything more concrete. I'm curious about your thoughts about both sides.

Once you fill it up with books though, is it possible it would be more sound-proof than when you started?

My wife is a better deal maker when buying cars. No debate. Cool to watch her at work.

nice! Thanks

y, Thank you. All the infocom games. Freshman year of high school, my friend and I got through to the end of Enchanter or Sorceror. It was like my birthday and christmas rolled into one.

I do appreciate that you've taken a position contrary to the article. I've done it myself. My comment is way too snarky for rational debate. That article is convincing though. Would be interesting to get another semi-famous/famous foodie/professional to rebut the article directly. Like an open letter to Kenji.

Why would you actually read the article when you can rant and complain without wasting all that analytical thinking? There's nothing new to learn. We know *everything already*

Thanks for the article!

I was wondering about this. It would be great if the post did some digging for more Native American responses to this movie. So far, it hasn't seemed negative. I'm assuming there are tribal reps that could give statements.

Y, I second this particular light. We tell our daughter, "You can come get us when the light turns orange." She kind of likes it as somewhat of a game. At around 3+, she was able to follow this instruction reasonably well. She can play in her room or whatever until the "sun comes out".

Thanks for the link. That does look like it could be pretty cool. I'll be very interested to see if it delivers in reality. My aging MacBook Pro is maxed out on RAM and hard disk and it's a very usable machine. However, any help Apple can give me to extend its life is appreciated.

yeah, I've seen that but these 10.x releases have sometimes been pretty dramatic, like snow leopard to lion. I'd still stick by my statement that if you're going to drop the feline naming scheme, conceptually it'd make sense to have a more substantial release.

I use the "history | grep whatever" tip on a daily basis
Particularly useful when your command is pretty long and way back in the history (especially since history will store 500 commands by default I believe...)

Actually, after re-reading the Mavericks articles on LH, I'm wondering the same thing. Seems odd that they'd redo the naming scheme and launch with some pretty tame updates, especially since some of these features are handled very well by 3rd party extensions.

+1 XtraFinder
Thought it was somewhat weird this didn't get mentioned in the fine article since I originally read about it here

Well, I had to accept there's only so much redundancy I could build in. I have 2 sumps. One has a much higher trigger point than the other so theoretically it would only kick in if the first is completely hosed. For power, I am depending on the grid and if that fails, the generator should kick in, even if I'm not at

And that's why I have a natural gas generator that kicks in if the power goes out.
